Redbourn have had the better of Northchurch in the seniors in recent years. Based on last night's performance, we can look forward to beating them again in about 2023

In the pairs format, Northchurch posted 64 for 6, with Max & Freddie, George V & Cian, and Daniel & Ryan setting a great foundation for final pair Ben & Louis to make a brilliant contribution of 26 for no loss of wicket in their four overs.

After several twists and turns in the second innings, Redbourn reached their final over needing just five to win but Northchurch took a wicket with the first ball (-5 runs), increasing the target to 10 from five balls. Redbourn made a great effort to get back into a position to win the game but could not find the boundary they needed from the final ball.

A great start to the league campaign, not only because of the positive result but because it reminded everyone just how exciting the matches can be.
