The U11s had a fun run out in their first game together as a team, not just this year but ever. This is a brand new squad for 2022.
Tring's 272 for three in the new 100 ball format was just beyond the reach of the boys, who fell a few short but did brilliantly to reach 255 for four against a polished attack which included a wily spinner.
Northchurch's bowling and fielding was impressive. William and Max linked up to give Tring early cause for concern, and Max was soon back in the action to find the edge, keeper Reuben pouching a sharp chance. After swapping the gloves, Reuben made impact with the ball by disturbing the stumps late in the innings.
The batters made a great effort but regular wickets pegged back progress to see the visitors come out on top.
Most importantly, the support for one another was great, team spirit high. Thanks to Josie and team for running the game.
